These paintings are part of a series based on recent storm events and the rare Aurora Borealis lights across the UK. I wanted to capture fleeting moments with hints of intense colours, simple lines and shapes and often without man-made landmarks. Multiple layers are gradually built up to create atmosphere and textures. I am influenced by the works of Mark Rothko and Post-Impressionists.
