My work is largely inspired by the Sussex landscape. The Ashdown Forest, local lakes and farmland providing a wealth of inspiration. Drawing is core to my practice and I aim to capture their spontaneity in my paintings. Whatever my intention, the work usually evolves with the painting taking its own course. I have learnt to let this happen as the core ‘sense of place’ within the painting remains.
