Brighton Art Fair is delighted to welcome Creative Futures for the first time in 2009. This not for profit organisation bridges the community arts and the professional arts sectors providing marginalised artists and writers the opportunity to network, exhibit, publish and sell their work at the highest levels. Creative Futures raises the profile of individual artists / writers and the organisations they access, whilst challenging public stereotypes of marginalised people.

What the artists said about Brighton Art Fair 2008:

'The contacts made were excellent and have already lead to further work, I would say the quality of contacts made this year was better than previous years.'

'I love doing the show. It's a great venue, fantastic standard of work, very validating, great to be a part of it.'

'I thought the weekend was very enjoyable and had some good conversations and sales. The shell scheme, lighting and general ambiance was excellent.'

'The feedback from visitors was consistently positive, many of whom go to lots of art fairs round the south, many said that Brighton Art Fair was their favourite for a number of reasons: consistent level of quality (your filtering system obviously works), location and  'boutique' style.'

'Many thanks for organising a great fair. I had a really enjoyable year and it seemed very busy the whole weekend.'

'I really enjoyed the whole fair. I have been telling everyone how good it was in terms of sales and organisation (and the team of wrappers, car unloaders etc were very helpful). Thank you!

Chris Knight Birds BAF08

An ever fluctuating flock of carved white plaster songbirds that come to roost in the dead and unwanted spaces of rooms, galleries and interior and exterior public spaces. Subtle and delicate they blend into the fabric of buildings, drawing the viewers eyes up from their usual focuses and reminding them that art doesn't have to be confined to picture hooks and plinths. Along with a beautiful recycled dove cote and ambient surrounding birdsong the flock of 100 plus birds will roost in the cafe area and throughout the Brighton Art Fair.
